I am just a fan from Australia who loved real competitions.

I think Al Crane has been totally pathetic. Musher must know all the rules before they start the race. It is fair enough that the musher with the best time wins. This must take into account the time differential at the start. This is clearly a very close race between mushers, so the best must win.

The old rules need to be followed. Then, where they break down because 100 years have passed, judges and mushers must agree on necessary revisions. They need to be put down in writing before the start.

I feel that the time differential should have been made up at Candle by adding X minutes to the arrival time of each musher, except for bib #2. This would not have created any problems as the arrival was still far away.

One Iditarod was won by 1 second by Lance’s father, so history can repeat itself.

I like to praise Josh for keeping everybody on the net informed the best he could.

The spreadsheet with the updates it totally pathetic for a race which is only run every 25 years. So the lead up time was extremely long. Following the Iditarod was great as the information was very timely conveyed through the web site. I am sure once in 25 years the Iditarod model could have been copied. Satellite phones can be used and maybe endorsements in terms of free time on them could have been asked for.

Although I prefer Lance to win, I am happy to see Mitch across the line ahead of Jeff.

Incredible. This really could be a mess. Hopefully something was lost in the English to English translation between Crane and Klott. . . ? What if King crosses the line 4 minutes or less ahead of Seavy . . . . The spreadsheet shows Seavey with 5 minutes ahead of King @ Cape Nome (with a 9 minute lead) I’m a new fan of the sport, these mushers and dogs are amazing . . . . I hope Crane’s “plan” does not lead to pandimonium . . .

have you ever spent time around him?-not just met him? his attitude just didn’t sit real well with me. probably just me though.

I am simply CONFUSED…and I will say, I wouldn’t want to be the one informing ANY musher crossing the finish line…not after running 408 miles…this IS crazy…Whats happening with Mackey?? The leader board seems way behind…?? Go King, Go Seavey… I just hope the “Best Team” takes home the $$$…It would be a real shame to end this historic race with hard feelings, and a bad taste in everyones mouth…Lets just pray it is a fair finish for whomever!!

Didn’t the judge get a copy of the rule book?

I’m with Jones, I wouldn’t blame the mushers for entering a law suit, infact I would expect it.

WOW!!!!!! How can you just make up rules as you go?

The JUDGE didn’t want the mushers to “know all of the information”????

If Mackey can’t beat king, I really hope Seavey will.
